Meet the Team: Todd Kennedy, Carpenter’s Assistant
As the youngest member of our team, Todd is a dedicated and hard worker. He fills the role of Carpenter’s Assistant, which means he helps the Lead Carpenter with any assigned tasks related to cabinetry, flooring, siding, framing, or trim work. He does what is asked of him without hesitation no matter what the task.
Todd’s construction experience began with four years at Heartwood Cabinetmakers in Holliston. “Todd’s experience in cabinet installation from his prior job is a valuable asset when we install custom kitchen cabinets,” says Lead Carpenter Skipper Farwell. He shines when doing fine work like crown moldings and cabinetry. Production Manager Steve Parnell adds, “He has the one ingredient really needed for this type of work, and that is patience. I’ve watched Todd work on detailed trim pieces and can say he’s beyond his years when it comes to detail work.”
Todd enjoys working alongside our experienced leads and he has learned a lot from them in his two years with us. Steve agrees,”I have had the pleasure of working shoulder to shoulder with Todd on many of our projects. He showed promise right out of the gate.” Todd plans to get his CSL license (carpenter’s license) later this year. We highly encourage him to pursue this!
When asked about the working environment on a project, Todd shares that it is easy to get along with everyone. It’s a friendly environment with really good teamwork. He says, “We all know our roles, so everything falls into place because everyone understands what they need to do to get the job done.”
When not working, Todd enjoys extreme sports like snowboarding and downhill mountain biking. And when he’s ready to relax, he grabs his tackle box for some good fishing. He has been snowboarding since he was five years old and loves the park sections of mountains with jumps, rails, and boxes. He enjoys traveling with family and friends out west to board in Colorado, California, Utah, and Nevada. A few of his favorite mountains in the northeast are Okemo and Sunday River.
Downhill mountain bike racing has interested him for the last 14 years. He’s experienced downhilling at mountains like Killington and Highland Mountain Bike Park in New Hampshire. This sport is not for the faint of heart!
He loves all kinds of sport fishing. For saltwater fishing, he’s had luck on the Cape Cod canal. For fresh water, he enjoys exploring new lakes and spots to see what he can catch.
One interesting fact about Todd: His mom is Suzy Kennedy, our in-house designer. So we are fortunate to have two talented Kennedys at JM Construction!
Reflecting on where Todd fits in with JM Construction, Steve Parnell shares that “Todd is an all around good guy. He’s got a great sense of humor and gets along with everyone he comes in contact with. We have high hopes for Todd and would like him to be part of the JM team well into the future.”
