Zhennaa Thompson

Zhennaa Thompson is JM Construction’s Marketing Manager. In her role, she is responsible for Marketing strategy and execution, internal and external events, the company’s website, and all aspects of our brand. Reporting to our Operations Manager, Zhennaa also plays an instrumental role in building the company culture and ensuring our company values are upheld. She is the mastermind behind team gatherings, including Taco Tuesday, Chilly Chili Day, Friendsgiving, and our summer and holiday celebrations.

Before joining JM Construction, Zhennaa held brand marketing and strategic planning roles in the human capital and ed-tech industry for companies such as Workhuman, The Princeton Review, and Monster.com.

Zhennaa lives in Sudbury, MA, although she was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Soon after graduating from college, she relocated from the South to the Midwest for a job opportunity that eventually brought her to the Boston area. While she would never want to call anywhere but New England, “home,” she maintains that her blood will always be “Texas thin,” joking that growing up in Houston, there were just two seasons – Summer and February. So, Zhennaa considers our four distinct seasons a real treat, but also wishes New England’s winter didn’t bleed so far into Spring most years.

Zhennaa is mom to one beautiful teenage daughter and two very pampered orange tabby cats. During her free time, Zhennaa enjoys baking, live music, watching holiday movies, reading, and helping foster her daughter’s entrepreneurial mindset, cultivating two family small business ideas – Itzy Treats, which some would say is the best chocolate chip cookie around, and Itzy Blooms, which grew out of Zhennaa’s husband’s love of gardening. Itzy Blooms is a little pop-up flower stand concept with a mission to spread joy one little bouquet a time, with 50% of profits going to a handful of non-profit organizations that are meaningful to Zhennaa and her family.
