Last month we were honored with a 2020 Contractor of the Year award by the only local association dedicated to remodeling, the Eastern Massachusetts division of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (EM NARI). EM NARI is a non-profit membership association dedicated to advancing quality in the professional remodeling industry.
They have over 200 local member companies representing nearly 1,000 area professionals. We’re members of EM NARI because we like to leverage their resources, like training opportunities, events, conferences, and vendor expos. We also are able to network locally and nationally with other remodeling companies and suppliers. We’ve been members for over 15 years, because we are serious about staying abreast of new innovations in the industry.
Every year, EM NARI allows members to compete in their prestigious Contractor of the Year awards. There were 82 projects submitted across 18 categories. A panel of 11 independent reviewers judged the project entries based on:
- An innovative use of materials and methods
- How well the project met the client’s needs
- How it enhanced the functionality and aesthetics of the space
- Craftsmanship displayed
Our Silver Award was presented to us in the “Residential Specialty Exteriors” category for our custom art studio featured in A Sherborn Artist’s Get-Away – A She Shed Just for Her. Here’s the moment we received the award and what EM NARI had to say about this one-of-a-kind project.
Congratulations to Skipper Farwell, the Lead Carpenter for this project and Suzy Kennedy, of SKI Design, who created the design for this unique studio. Our president, Jeff McLinden, was ecstatic to learn of the award, saying, “We’re honored to have our work recognized amongst our peers and loved being able to collaborate so closely with our design team and the client to ensure the vision for the space was realized.”
