Standard Deck Transformed into a Four-Season Sunroom
Project Overview
The goal of this comprehensive indoor/outdoor renovation was to replace a standard deck with a beautifully integrated, four-season sunroom that connects seamlessly to the home and outdoor living areas, providing year-round usability. The existing deck was demolished to make way for the new sunroom addition, which was designed to expand the home’s versatile living space.
The homeowner requested large windows for natural light, a TV wall positioned to block an unwanted view of the neighbor’s yard, and easy access to the patio for entertaining. The design also maintains foot traffic from the driveway and meets roof specs for solar panel installation. The finished sunroom offers abundant daylight, direct access to both the landscaped yard and adjacent kitchen, and features high-quality materials that unify the space.
The Results
After removing the original deck, our team created a comfortable, light-filled space space perfect for relaxing or entertaining. Large, energy-efficient windows and sliding doors open directly to the yard, while two entry landings make it convenient to move between the outdoors, sunroom, and kitchen.
We installed a striking glass wall, complete with French doors, sidelights, and a transom to create a seamless connection between the kitchen and the new sunroom. The finished space includes ceramic tile flooring, a custom-built faux fireplace surround as a focal point, recessed lighting, and wiring for internet and TV. A smart thermostat provides full climate control. For a streamlined aesthetic, we recommended a Samsung Frame TV, allowing the screen to double as artwork when not in use.
