Four Distinct Spaces, One Cohesive Design
Project Overview
A large, underutilized basement required a complete overhaul to make it a valuable space for the family to gather, play and relax. The goal for this space was to create four distinct areas for varying uses. The clients shared that they would like a multi-use area, including a foyer with storage and a bathroom, as well as separate spaces for music, media and games. Additionally, the spaces needed to be tied together with a cohesive design that flows from one space to another.
The Results
With specific uses in mind, we connected each basement space with eye-catching components, including an electric fireplace and high-end paneling. Entering the area through the basement foyer, you are greeted by a visually inviting seating area, bar and speakeasy space. The dual music and speakeasy room features Maple Espresso Wainscoting throughout, a custom mantel, and a dry bar for entertaining. The media and game rooms feature built-in nooks for a wall-mounted projection screen, as well as custom-designed barn and pocket doors that allow for expansion or division of the spaces.Â
